Susan Dixon Sample Obituary (1940 - 2020)

On the morning of April 18th 2020, Susan Dixon Sample left this physical world to find eternal peace. Susan was one of 7 of children. She was born in Tennessee and lived her entire life in Verona, New Jersey. Before her health slowly started to decline the past few years, she enjoyed the beach bum summers with family and the simple things in life. In recent years she worked at Four Paws doggy day care across the street from her. When she could no longer do that, she would watch the very special fur friends she had made when their owners would go away on trips. She appreciated life and the gift of each day. She fought so hard and so vibrantly to be with her family the past few years and made it count. She overcame lung cancer and managed her health like a warrior. Following a fall earlier this month she was hospitalized, contracted COVID-19, suffered a stroke, and decided that it was time for her to let herself find comfort and peace. Her last hours were spent in isolation but with her loving daughter Jennifer by her side. Susan is survived by her daughter Jennifer, her grandchildren Lauren and Michael, her brother David, sister Leslie, sister Linda, and her life partner and love John G. Malarik Jr. (and his entire loving family, that also became her family). Susan also leaves behind her little yorkie love, Sparky, who will miss her beyond words.
