Sidney J. Prestifilippo Obituary (1930 - 2022)

Sidney J. Prestifilippo, 91, a lifelong resident of the Caldwell's, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2022. Visitation will be private. A funeral Mass will be held in St. Aloysius Church, 219 Bloomfield Ave., Caldwell, on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2022 at 10:30 a.m., followed by the interment at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Caldwell, N.J. (Masks are required in the church) Arrangements are by Paul Ippolito-Dancy Memorial, Caldwell. Born in Caldwell, N.J., son of the late Joseph and Anna Prestifilippo, Mr. Prestifilippo was a 1948 graduate of Grover Cleveland High School and was a lifelong resident of the Caldwell's. He was employed by the Caldwell/West Caldwell Post Office as a letter carrier for 36 years before retiring in 1992. A veteran, Mr. Prestifilippo proudly served in the Navy. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years to Nicolina (nee Chiauzzi) Prestifilippo; loving daughters Luanne DiGuglielmo and her husband, Dennis, Maria Rodgers and her husband Frank, Susan Saccente and her husband, Dominick, Elizabeth Bongo and her husband, Allan, and was the cherished grandfather of Frank, Nicholas, Monica, Thomas, and Dante Rodgers; Michael and Andrew Saccente, and Joseph, Maria and Evan Bongo. He was the brother-in-law of Michael Chiauzzi. He was also predeceased by his brother, Joseph Prestifilippo.
