It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Rosa Saraceno, who left us on December 11th at the age of 82.
Born in 1942 in Monte di Procida, Italy, to Vincenzo and Stella Costagliola, she was the cherished sister of Paul, Luigi, Anna Maria, Lina, Michael, and Frank. Rosa was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Luigi and Frank, and her sister Lina, who passed away at a young age. Rosa lovingly cared for her brother Luigi, who was mentally disabled, throughout his life, especially in his later years, showing her deep devotion and selflessness until his passing.
At the age of 7, Rosa moved with her family to Argentina, where she spent her childhood and early years. In 1965, Rosa married the love of her life, Libero Saraceno, in Brooklyn, New York, after he followed her to the United States. Together, they raised five children: Michael, Roxanne (Marc) Pisa, Vincent (Jessica), Alexandro, and Stella (Frank) Cicarone.
Rosa was also a cherished grandmother to Vincent, Sofia, Samantha, Dallas, and Siena. She was predeceased by her granddaughters Francesca and Giordana, whose loss was deeply felt by Rosa, and who are now reunited with their Nonna.
A devoted wife, mother, sister, and loving grandmother, Rosa always put her family first, creating a home filled with warmth, love, and care. Her life was defined by her strength, generosity, and the profound love she shared with those around her.
She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, siblings, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Paul Ippolito-Dancy Memorial, 9 Smull Ave., Caldwell, N.J. The Funeral Mass will be Monday, Dec. 16, 2024, at 11 a.m. in St. Raphael Church, Livingston, immediately followed by the entombment at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum in East Hanover, N.J.
She will be greatly missed but never forgotten. May she rest in peace.
