Richard J. Swanwick, Sr.

Richard J. Swanwick, Sr., 73, of Sparta, N.J. passed away on Nov. 17, 2021.

A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday morning, Nov. 21, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at in Paul Ippolito-Dancy Memorial, 9 Smull Ave., Caldwell, N.J., immediately followed by a funeral service at 11:30 a.m.

Born in Orange and a longtime resident, Mr. Swanwick moved to Sparta many years ago.

He served as Deputy Chief of the Orange Fire Department in the City of Orange for 32 years before retiring.

The beloved husband of the late Alice Joan Swanwick, he was the loving father of Richard J. Swanwick Jr., Sharon M. Swanwick and the late Kelly A. Litchfield; dear brother of Deborah B. Swanwick and Robert E. Swanwick; cherished grandfather of Cristian Vasile, Gheorghe Vasile, Matthew P. Litchfield, and Ashley Litchfield.
