Richard S. "Dick" Roth Obituary (1931 - 2020)

Richard S. "Dick" Roth, 89, of West Caldwell, N.J., passed away Dec. 2, 2020. Visiting will be at Paul Ippolito-Dancy Memorial, 9 Smull Ave., Caldwell, N.J., on Friday, Dec. 11, 2020 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. The burial will be on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at Clover Leaf Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Woodbridge Township, NJ Due to the restrictions of COVID masks and social distancing are required at the funeral home and cemetery. Born in Irvington, Mr. Roth grew up in East Orange and lived in Bloomfield before moving to West Caldwell. A retired investment consultant, Mr. Roth was employed his entire career by IDS American Express which became Financial Advisor, and later Ameriprise Financial Services. Mr. Roth proudly served in the Navy with the rank of Lieutenant JG from 1953 to 1956. During the 1980's, he ran for Congressman as a Libertarian. Mr. Roth was a member A.A. for 48 years and was proud to make this his second family. He became a mentor and good friend to many. He is survived by his great nieces, Beth Berruti and her husband, John, Amy Gajewski and her husband, John; great-great nieces and nephews, Brielle and Giovanni Berruti, Evan and Savanna Gajewski, and Richard Blasi. He was predeceased by his parents, Samuel and Katherine Roth; sister, Katherine Florentine and niece, Diane Florentine Blasi.
