Philomena Patruno (nee Infante) Obituary (1920 - 2022)

Philomena Patruno (nee Infante), 101, of Toms River, formerly of Orange passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2022. A service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022, 12 noon in St. Stepanos Armenian Apostolic Church, 1184 N. Ocean Ave., Long Branch, N.J., 07740. Entombment will be private. Born in Gorga, Salerno, Italy, Mrs. Patruno lived in Orange before moving to Toms River more than 25 years ago. She and her late husband, Jerry, owned and operated Jerry's Grocery Store located on Pierson Street in Orange for many years before retiring. Active in the community, she volunteered at St. Mary's Hospital in Orange, and was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church Women's Auxiliary, as well as a bingo call for the church. Mrs. Patruno was also a member of the Holiday City Silverton Clubhouse Women's Auxiliary and a member of the Sons of Italy. Mrs. Patruno was predeceased by her husband, Jerry, and son, Leonard Patruno. Her son, Paul Patruno, passed away on February 9, 2022. She is survived by her beloved daughter-in-law, Linda Patruno; cherished grandchildren, Pamela Tossounian and her husband Anto, Gregg Patruno, Jeremy Patruno and Madelyn Patruno; dear great-grandchildren, Sophia Patruno, Ani Patruno, Lucine' Toussounian and Garine' Tossounian, and many loving nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her devoted and loving caregiver, Gohar Panosyan. In lieu of flowers donations in Philomena Patruno's name to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 103 South Center St., Orange, N.J., 07050 would be appreciated.
