ENGLISH Pedro Sardinas Hernandez, 78, of North Caldwell, N.J., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024. He was born in Havana, Cuba and was a longtime resident of Union City before relocating to the Caldwells. He was a family man first and was the beloved husband of Teresa (formerly Santana) Sardinas, the proud and loving father of Sandra Melian and her husband Juan, Lisset Alvarez and her husband Juan Pablo, and Pedro Sardinas and his wife Nicole, and cherished grandfather of Juan Manuel, Carlos, Natalie, Jeancarlo, Lizzie, Christian, and Cameron. His favorite pastime was cheering on his beloved NY Yankees and caring for his grandchildren. He enjoyed family gatherings where he was often found telling jokes, dancing and singing karaoke. He had great pride in his Cuban heritage and was an avid student of history and politics. He loved traveling the world with his family and mostly enjoyed visiting the Niagara Falls and eating at his favorite restaurant, The Skylon Tower. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at Paul Ippolito-Dancy Memorial, 9 Smull Ave., Caldwell, NJ, on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024, from 4 to 7 pm. The service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Oct. 18, 2024, at 11am, immediately followed by the interment at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Caldwell, NJ.
