Boonton, New Jersey
Paul Damian Ippolito, 65, loving husband and father, resident of Boonton, New Jersey, passed away of sudden critical illness on April 25, 2026 at Morristown Medical Center.
The son of Thelma and Benjamin Ippolito, Paul was an outstanding and creative musician. He began playing guitar at an early age, and went on to join many Rolling Stones tribute bands. He also played in other various cover bands and for original artists.
Paul began writing his own music which consisted of original songs and named his band, "Ippy and the Project." His wife, Linda, the lead singer of the band, helped create the first two solo albums. They toured together as a duo in the United States. Over the years, the members of Ippy and the Project changed in time for different reasons. The final album is in the mixing process and will be released sometime in the future.
Paul graduated from County College of Morris in Randolph and worked for the Morris County Parks Commission in Morristown for about 30 years as a plantsman. He also loved hiking, nature, art, and good conversation. He spoke about music on a deeper level to his closest fellow musicians, who brought so much joy to his like and was inspired by this.
Everyone wanted Paul in their band to play. He gave so much of himself for love of music. He will be missed by all of his family and friends.
Paul was predeceased by his parents, Thelma and Benjamin Ippolito, and brother, Brian Ippolito.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda, and cherished son, Paul Vincent. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Diane McHugh, special cousin, Bernadette Scolomiero, and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. Paul will be missed by the dear friends he made in Matt Talbot Group 38.
