Norma V. Scavuzzo

Norma V. Scavuzzo (nee Bergamo), 92, of West Caldwell, N.J., passed away peacefully at home on November 5, 2022, with her loving daughters by her side.

Relatives and friends may visit with the family at Paul Ippolito-Dancy Memorial, 9 Smull Ave., Caldwell, N.J., on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 4 TO 8 P.M. A Mass will be held at St. Aloysius Church, Caldwell, on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 10:30 AM, immediately followed by the interment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Upper Montclair, N.J.

Born in Newark, N.J., Norma was the beloved daughter of the late Alphonse and Grace Bergamo.

She was a graduate of the Washington School of Secretaries and was employed as a secretary with the Apollo Co. in Newark before working as a claims examiner with Bollinger Insurance Co. in Montclair for many years, before retiring.

An avid tennis player and active in the community, she was a volunteer at St. Aloysius School and a member of St. Aloysius Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Columbus Auxiliary Society in Newark and a Brownie and Girl Scouts leader in Caldwell for many years.

The beloved wife of the late Philip J. Scavuzzo, she was the loving mother of Paula Kelly and her husband Kurt, and Diane Stille and her husband, Thomas, and dear sister of Gabriel Bergamo and the late Marie Rosamalia, Jean Mercogliano, Helen Rubino and Josephine Smith. She is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews.
