Mildred E. Fucito
She started her life in 1928 in Jersey City, New Jersey, and took her final breath in room 537 in Mountainside Hospital overlooking that same city.
In between, she lived a full life, moving from Jersey City to West Caldwell, where she and her husband, Joe, built a house, a home and a family. She lived in that home for 66 years. Prior to her marriage, Mildred worked as bookkeeper for 11 years at C.R. Bard.
Mildred E. Fucito (nee Lang), 95, of West Caldwell, N.J. passed away on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2024.
She was the daughter of the late William and Mildred Lang.
Mildred loved being with her family and friends, especially at the family's Pocono home in Pennsylvania. She enjoyed playing the organ, toiling in and collecting rocks for her garden, was a wonderful cook and appreciated having the occasional glass of White Zinfandel but always having a "nice" cup of tea.
She was an avid card player, often playing with her grandchildren and enjoyed putting together a good jigsaw puzzle. At 90, Mildred took up Mahjongg, playing weekly with a group of family and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Joseph, she was predeceased by her brothers, William Lang and Richard Lang.
She is survived by her loving children, Joseph (Chris) Fucito, Karen (Denise DiMatteo) Fucito, and Lynn (Mark) Keenan, cherished grandchildren, Jeffrey (Allison) Keenan, Jenna Keenan and Julia (Hath) Hassan and great-grandmother of Oliver Keenan.
Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Friday, Aug. 30, 2024, from 4 to 8 p.m. or Saturday, Aug. 31 at 9:30 to 10 a.m. at Paul Ippolito-Dancy Memorial, 9 Smull Ave., Caldwell. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home, immediately followed by the interment at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, N.J.
