Michael Newcombe

Mr. Michael Newcombe died on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at his home in Caldwell, NJ. A memorial gathering will be held at Dancy Funeral Home, 9 Smull Avenue, Caldwell, NJ on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 from 4:00PM-7:00PM; followed by repass at Cloverleaf Tavern, 395 Bloomfield Ave, Caldwell from 7:00PM-9:00PM.

Michael spent much of his formative years in West Keansburg, later making his home and raising his family in Caldwell. A master painter, he built his own business, Metropolitan Home Renovation and Painting, and was the first to point out with pride his work or that of fellow tradesmen. He was charismatic, loved fishing and good music, and could always make a connection with the people around him.

Michael is survived by his devoted wife, Laurie Newcombe (née Price); his adored daughters, Katherine and Elizabeth Newcombe; their fiancés, Dr. Michael Pinto and Owen Flanagan; and his caring sisters Deborah Sefcik and Joanne Newcombe-Hedinger. He was preceded in death by beloved his mother, Emily Beam.

Michael was granted a second chance at life after receiving a liver transplant in 1999. It gave him the ability to watch his daughters grow with his wife, and enjoy life with family and friends. Because of this, his family requests donations made to Sharing Network Foundation, sharingnetworkfoundation.org/give in lieu of flowers.
