Mark White

Mr. Mark C. White, 69, died suddenly at home in Caldwell, NJ on Thursday, February 26, 2026.

Born in Newport, England, on the Isle of Wight, Mark moved to the United States with his family in 1960. They first lived in Montclair and Glen Ridge before settling in Caldwell. He graduated from James Caldwell High School with the Class of 1975.

Mark married his high school sweetheart, Katherine “Kathy” (nee Poole), in August of 1982 and together they shared 43 years of marriage built on love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Caldwell was always home which he called "The center of the universe", where they built a life and raised their family.

A skilled and hardworking contractor, Mark founded Newport Builders, establishing a respected Caldwell-based business through his integrity and craftsmanship.

Mark had a lifelong passion for cars and racing, especially Formula 1 and cheering on the British drivers. He loved fishing — particularly surf casting from the beach — and treasured traveling with his family. Hawaii, Colorado, Maine, and Texas were among his favorite destinations, and Lime Rock Park held a special place in his heart for race days and shared memories.

He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Jean White.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy; his daughter, Rachel and daughter in law Izabela; his cherished pups, Marshall and Tucker; his brothers, Stuart White (Theresa) and Ashley White (Jamie); his parents-in-law, Ron and Carol Poole; his brothers-in-law, Tom Poole (Donna), Russell Poole (Rita) and Mark Poole (Pam); his nieces and nephews, Dylan (Ariana), Nicole, Amanda (Andrew), Madison, Brayden, Danielle (Zach), Bryan, Cameron, Gavin, Quinn and Samantha; and a large extended loving family here and abroad and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
