Marilyn J. "Yangy" Gambino

Marilyn "Yangy" Janet Gambino (nee McVeigh), 88, of Verona, N.J., passed away on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021.

Relatives and friends may visit with the family at Paul Ippolito-Dancy Memorial, 9 Smull Ave., Caldwell, on Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021 from 1 to 5 p.m. A Mass will be held at Notre Dame Church, North Caldwell, N.J., on Monday, Sept. 20, 2021 at 10 a.m., followed by the interment at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Caldwell.

The family has requested that their guests wear masks while paying their respects at the funeral home and in the church.

Born in Paterson, Mrs. Gambino was a resident of North Caldwell for many years before moving to Verona.

A graduate of St. Vincent's Nursing School in Montclair and Memorial High School in East Paterson, Mrs. Gambino was a certified baby nurse and nanny.

She was the beloved wife of the late Salvatore Gambino; loving mother of Gail Petruzziello and her husband, Tony, Cheryl Stanke and her husband Gary, and Gregg Gambino; dear sister of Kathy Mindszenty, and cherished grandmother of Danielle Cusack and her husband, Matthew, Alexandra Restrepo and her husband, Mike, and Christopher Gambino, Matthew Gambino, and Angelina Gambino.She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. Gambino was also predeceased by her parents, Charles J. and Margaret McVeigh, brother, Charles McVeigh Jr., and daughter-in-law, Julissa Novillo Gambino.
