Mrs. Lillias R. “Lil” Naspo, 96, of Essex Fells, NJ, died on Monday, October 19, 2026, at her daughter’s home in Milton, Delaware, surrounded by family.

Visiting will be held at the Dancy Funeral Home, 9 Smull Avenue, Caldwell, NJ, on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, from 5 to 7 PM.

Born and raised in Pictou, Nova Scotia, Canada, Mrs. Naspo earned her nursing degree from McGill University in Montreal before embarking on a career as a Registered Nurse. She moved to the United States, working first in Washington, D.C., before setting off on an adventure to Hawaii with a friend. While working at a hospital near an Air Force base, she met Eugene Naspo, a member of the United States Air Force. The two fell in love and were married in Hawaii in 1956.

After welcoming their first child, Donna, the couple returned to the East Coast, settling in Eugene’s hometown of Montclair, NJ, where their family continued to grow. In 1966, they moved to West Caldwell, where they raised their four children and made their home for nearly 60 years. Mrs. Naspo moved to Essex Fells in early 2026.

Throughout her years in New Jersey, Mrs. Naspo continued her nursing career at Mountainside Hospital in Montclair. She was also a longtime parishioner of Notre Dame Church in North Caldwell.

Beyond her dedication to nursing and family, Lil had a wonderful creative side. She enjoyed knitting, pottery, crocheting and sewing. She was very dedicated to sewing for Doctors without Borders. Lovingly made Afghans and created custom outfits for her family, sharing her creativity and talents with those closest to her.

Mrs. Naspo was predeceased by her beloved husband of 64 years, Eugene Naspo, Sr., in 2020.
