Kevin P. Caufield Obituary (1954 - 2019)

Kevin P. Caufield, 64, of West Caldwell, NJ passed away Saturday, September 21, 2019. Visiting will be at the Paul Ippolito - Dancy Memorial, 9 Smull Ave, Caldwell on Wednesday, September 25th from 3 to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 26th at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Aloysius Church, 219 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell. Final committal will be private. Kevin was born and raised in the Vailsburg section of Newark, N.J. and has lived in West Caldwell, N.J. since 1992. Kevin retired in 2005 as Assistant Chief, FSSCM, City of Newark Fire Department after 32 years of service and was a member of the NJ State FMBA Assistance Program and Newark Fire Officers Union Local 1860. He was a graduate of Seton Hall Prep and attended Seton Hall University. He was also an active participant in numerous adult softball and basketball leagues in the Caldwell area. He was a loyal fan of the LA Dodgers, NY Giants, NY Rangers and a diehard Seton Hall Pirates Basketball fan. Beloved husband for 30 years of Robin (nee Magnusson); loving father of Kevin, Kelsey and Kyle Caufield; Brother of Lea (Paul) Higgins, Susan Caufield, John (Maureen) Caufield, Joe (Susie) Caufield, Brian Caufield, Maryanne (Al) Vindici, Dennis (Michelle) Caufield and Danny (Shay) Caufield; Brother-in-law of Troy (Sharon) Magnusson and Terri (Rich) Malanga; proud godfather of his brother Danny, Casey Pinal-Acevedo, Tim Caufield, Brynn Caufield, also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, friends and his beloved dog Kennedy. Kevin was predeceased by his parents John P. and Anne (nee Walsh) Caufield, a goddaughter Colleen Caufield and a brother-in-law Kevin Magnusson.
