West Caldwell, NJ
Jane A. Saylor of West Caldwell, NJ passed away peacefully on September 8, 2021 at the age of 97.
Jane, known for her sparkling personality, beautiful smile, and warm heart, led a long, meaningful, and interesting life. She was a life-long Jersey girl, having grown up in East Orange, before moving to the Caldwell's more than 70 years ago.
Jane was committed to helping others with her time, talent, and treasure. As a longtime member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Essex Fells, Jane was an avid volunteer on numerous fronts - as a Sunday School teacher, member of the Altar Guild, member of the Opportunity Shop staff, and various other committees throughout the years. She was also active in the PTA and the recreational sports programs while her children were growing up. She was a tennis and bowling enthusiast, and an avid Yankees and Giants fan. She was full of fun and energy!
Jane is predeceased by her husband of 33 years, John E. Saylor (Jack), who passed away in 1977. They had a very special marriage. She is survived by her children, Bruce and Debbie Saylor, Donna and Brian Pijanowski, and Carolyn and Otmar Thoemmes, along with 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She is also predeceased by her dear friend Lyman Andrus (Lem), who passed away in 2016. She will be greatly missed, but remembered lovingly for her grace, charm, and commitment to family.
