Gerard "Jerry" DeFilippo Obituary (1933 - 2019)

Gerard "Jerry" De Filippo, 86, of Whippany, N.J. passed away on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019. A Mass will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, 312 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover, NJ 07936 on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019 at 11 a.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Paul Ippolito-Dancy Memorial, Caldwell, N.J. Born in Newark, Mr. DeFilippo was a longtime resident of the Oranges, before moving to Whippany.He was employed as an insurance adjustor for Prudential Insurance Company in Newark for many years before retiring. A veteran, Mr. DeFilippo proudly served in the Army during the Korean War. The beloved husband of 62 years to Rose (nee Neri) DeFilippo, he was the father of Leonard, Frank and Fernando, grandfather of Lauren, Gerard and his wife, Samantha and Gerard C., and great-grandfather of Luca.
