George Funk

Mr. George P. Funk, 83, died on Friday, July 24, 2026, in Livingston, New Jersey.

Born in Orange, Mr. Funk was a lifelong resident of Caldwell. He graduated with the second graduating class of James Caldwell High School in 1962. He married his high school sweetheart, Janice Claire Funk, and together they shared 56 happy years of marriage. They remained in their hometown of Caldwell, where they raised their daughter, Christine.

A true jack of all trades, Mr. Funk was best known for his pottery, which he created in his studio at the family’s Caldwell home. His work was displayed and sold at trade shows and craft shows throughout the area, where he earned recognition for his talent and craftsmanship. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

Mr. Funk was predeceased by his beloved wife, Janice Claire Funk.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Christine Funk; his cherished grandsons, Kenny Miscia and Daniel Carchio; and many loving extended family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations to a local animal shelter would be greatly appreciated.
