Enrico A. De Rienzo

–

Bridgewater, NJ

On Wednesday, February 3, 2021 Enrico De Rienzo passed away peacefully surrounded by his beloved family at his daughter's home in Bridgewater, NJ.

Enrico was born in S. Paolina (prov. of Avellino) on August 28, 1935 to Ersilia and Alfredo De Rienzo. He had three sisters, Maria Concetta Censullo, Dorotea DeVizia and Candida De Rienzo. As a young boy he always had a thirst for knowledge and learning and attended an all boys high school in Benvento, Italy. He then went on to study engineering at the University of Naples. In 1962, the family left Italy and relocated to Orange, NJ where he then attended Fairleigh Dickinson University and obtained a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering. He then went on to have a wonderful career in engineering which eventually landed him at Gibbs & Hill in NYC working in nuclear engineering for many years. In 1970, Enrico was married to Marie (Tenore) De Rienzo and together they had 2 daughters, Lia and Lucia.

He later married Larisa Kramer and they were together many years. Enrico loved nothing more than spending time in Italy, so much in fact that together they lived there for several years upon retiring.

He enjoyed world history, culture, classical music with a true love for opera. He was an avid golfer and spent much time on the golf course. There was nothing he loved more, however, than his grandchildren. Alex, Jack (Murawski) Giuliana, Michael and Daniela (Fogliano) were his pride and joy and he loved spending much time with them at parks, libraries, the golf course or just talking and sharing stories. In his last years, Enrico lived in Port Richey, FL where he enjoyed good weather, golf and made new friends that he always held close before moving back to NJ in 2019.

Enrico will be dearly missed by his 2 daughters, son-in-laws (Jake Fogliano and Peter Murawski), his 5 grandchildren, his sister, Candida, nieces, nephews in Italy and many friends.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, February 6, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 103 South Center St. Orange, NJ at 11:00 a.m. (Due to COVID 19 restrictions masks and social distancing are required in the church).

Arrangements are by Paul Ippolito-Dancy Memorial in Caldwell, N.J.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105 or at https://www.stjude.org would be greatly appreciated.
