Parsippany, NJ

Elaine Hartshorn (nee DeMiro) of Parsippany, NJ passed away on July 14, 2021 at the age of 77.
Family and friends may attend the Memorial Visitation in Paul Ippolito-Dancy Memorial, 9 Smull Ave., Caldwell, NJ on Sunday, July 25th from 2-5 PM. There will be a Celebration of Her Life with words of remembrance to begin at 4 PM.

Elaine was born on March 31, 1944, in Montclair, NJ to parents William and Marie DeMiro.. Elaine was preceded in death by her loving husband Ronald T. Hartshorn, who she shared 55 years of marriage with.
Elaine is survived by her sisters, Diane DeMiro, Carole DeMiro, and her brother-in-law Dicken McKay, as well as her children, Janice Lee Hartshorn, Ronald W. Hartshorn, Benjamin Hartshorn and her daughter-in-law, Nicole Hartshorn. Her granddaughters Stephanie Marie Hartshorn, Clara Elaine Hartshorn, and Grace Adriana Hartshorn, also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Elaine grew up in East Orange, Nj and graduated from Clifford Scott High School in 1961, where she met her high school sweetheart and husband Ronald Hartshorn. The two married, and started a family. Elaine was a loving and supportive working mother and wife. She also performed with the Beswick Dance Company.
When the family lived on the farm in Rensselaer Falls, NY, she had prolific gardens, raised animals, made wine and made the best pickles in the world. All while working and raising a family.
She moved to New Jersey and worked for AT&T for over 20 successful years as an administrator in the finance department.

Elaine and Ron enjoyed many summers on the farm after they retired. She especially enjoyed the flower beds which still flourish today, watching the birds, and just breathing the fresh country air. Every meal was an event worth photographing. She loved vacationing in Maine, and the lobster dinners that she and Ron would enjoy while there. Family time at the farm with her children and grandchildren made her the most happy.

Although she left us way too soon, her spirit joins Ron, for the next great adventure.
