Eileen C. Durborow

Eileen C. Durborow (Nee McAuliffe) of Wharton, NJ, formerly of Fairfield, passed away on January 11, 2019, at the age of 76.

Visiting will be held at Paul Ippolito-Dancy Memorial, 9 Smull Ave., Caldwell on Monday, Jan. 14th from 4-8 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held in St. Thomas More Church, Fairfield on Tuesday, Jan. 15th at 10 am. For directions or to send condolences please visit www.ippolitofuneralhomes.com.

Eileen married her husband, William, on October 8, 1966 at Sacred Heart Church in Newark, NJ, the beginning of a beautiful love story that lasted fifty-two years. Eileen was a loving, devoted and compassionate mother with a strong spirit who brought love, tenderness and happiness to all those who were lucky enough to know her.

Born in Bronx, NY, she and her husband raised their family in Fairfield, NJ before settling in Wharton, NJ.In addition to being the beloved wife of William, she also is the loving mother of Chris, and his wife Karen, Brian and his wife Michelle, dear sister of Patricia Lombardi and her husband Vincent and cherished grandmother of Lauren, Matthew and Riley.

She was employed as a secretary for Joseph Byrne Insurance co. for many years followed by the position of executive secretary for West Essex Graphics in Fairfield before retiring in 1993.

She was very active in the community as a CCD teacher and member of the religious education department for St. Thomas More Church in Fairfield for several years and was one of the first parents in the community to create Project Graduation of West Essex High School.
