Dorothy L. Steele

Dorothy L. Steele (nee Lichtenberg), 74, of Hopatcong, N.J. passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2019.

Visitation will be at Paul Ippolito-Dancy Memorial, 9 Smull Ave., Caldwell, on Monday, May 13, 2019, from 3 to 7 p.m., with a blessing to be held at 4:30 p.m. Burial will be private.

Mrs. Steele was born in Auburn, N.Y., and raised in Brooklyn and Staten Island. She was a resident of Montville, N.J. and Guttenberg, N.J. for many years before moving to Hopatcong.

An attorney and certified public accountant, Mrs. Steele had a private law practice specializing in tax law for many years. In addition to her private practice, Mrs. Steele was a professor of law at Montclair State University for 25 years.

Mrs. Steele graduated from Wagner College in 1966, earned her MBA from Pace College and continued on to Brooklyn Law School, where she received her law degree.

Mrs. Steele was predeceased by her beloved husband, Philip Steele, and is survived by her loving daughter and her husband, Denise B. Grant and Gavin D. Grant, her cherished grandson, Tristan Edward Grant, and many loving friends and colleagues.
