Carol Ann (nee Cella) Kirner Obituary (1947 - 2020)

Mrs. Carol Ann (nee Cella) Kirner, 72, of Caldwell, N.J. passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2020. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Sunday, July 12, 2020 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Paul Ippolito-Dancy Memorial, 9 Smull Ave., Caldwell, N.J. A Mass will be held on Monday, July 13, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Bloomfield, N.J. Due to the current restrictions on public gatherings, visitors to the funeral home must wear facial coverings and practice social distancing. Only 50 people will be permitted inside the funeral home at a time. Your patience and understanding are appreciated while COVID-19 restrictions are in place. Born in Newark, N.J. to the late Lawrence and Concetta (nee Carella) Cella, Mrs. Kirner lived in Cedar Grove for many years before moving to Caldwell several years ago. Mrs. Kirner was a kindergarten teacher with the Bloomfield School District for many years before retiring. She was also a Child Birth Educator and Interior Designer. Mrs. Kirner earned her teaching degree from Jersey City University and was a member of the Marquis Who's Who. The beloved wife of 49 years to Robert John Kirner, she was the loving mother of Cara Ann Concetta Cella Kirner-DePeri and her husband, Michael DePeri Jr., and Robert Lawrence Kirner; dear sister of Valerie Butler and her husband, Neil Butler, and Mildred Rispoli and her husband, the late Dr. Philip Anthony Rispoli, and the late Joseph Lawrence Cella, and cherished grandmother of Michael Anthony DePeri. She was also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
