Anthony "Tony" Battista

Anthony "Tony" Battista, 78, of Budd Lake, N.J. passed away on Friday, Nov. 22, 2019.

Relatives and friends may visit with the family at Paul Ippolito-Dancy Memorial, 9 Smull Ave., Caldwell, N.J., on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2019 from 4 to 8 p.m. A Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Orange, N.J., on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019 at 10 a.m., followed by the entombment at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, East Hanover, N.J.

Born in Orange, Mr. Battista was a resident of Budd Lake for many years.

He was employed by the County College of Morris in Randolph for many years before retiring in 2004 as the supervisor of custodians and grounds.

An avid fishermen, hunter and golfer, he was a longtime member of the Order Sons of Italy and the Padre Pio Lodge 2350 of Orange.

The beloved husband of 56 years to Judith (nee Franklin) Battista, he was the loving father of Joseph Battista, Jeffrey Battista and his wife, Sharon, Jacqueline DiJoseph and her husband, Rob, Jamiee Smith and her husband, Bob, and Jason Battista; cherished grandfather of Anthony, Lucia, Jackson, Riley, Kayla, Matthew, Kirsten, Nicklolas, Aiden and Evelyn.

Mr. Battista was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mildred Battista, and sister Joan Spina.
